Foxy Friday: Rick Nash

It is a well documented fact that I love lumberjacks.

Okay, so not actual lumberjacks (considering I’ve never met one) but guys who look like lumberjacks.  Tall.  Scruffy.  Woodsy.  Unabashedly manly.

This girl is living my fantasy.

For this week’s Foxy Friday, I’ve decided to honor Columbus Blue Jackets right winger, Rick Nash – the original NHL Lumberjack.

All that's missing is a red & black checked shirt.

In all honesty, I’d totally forgotten about Nasher.  But then he goes and makes the All-Star Team again and like the tulips in the Boston Public Gardens in the spring…my love is renewed.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my awesome girlfriend. Her name is Chuck and she's amazing.

Can you really blame me for forgetting about him?  He plays in a small market team that very rarely, if ever, plays mine. (read: Not on TV)  His team is never on Versus or NHL on NBC.  (read: Not on TV)  I’m so delighted that he got some screen time at the NHL All Star Fantasy Draft.  Seeing him NOT be so horribly awkward like a majority of the other players make me realized the reason why I’d loved him in the first place. Nasher at All-Star Draft.

Look out, Mike Green. Nasher & his hair are coming for ya.

So, why is Nasher so Foxy?

  1. the 2010 Season stats – 23 goals, 21 assists, 5 GWG
  2. the hair
  3. the beard
  4. the lips
  5. 1st overall pick in the 2002 Entry Draft
  6. the fact that he’s remained loyal to CBJ when I’m sure he’s had the chance to go to a large market team
  7. won the 2009 NHL Foundation Player Award for his work in the community (read: big softie)
  8. Olympic Gold Medalist

Sidney: "Still coming over for dinner tomorrow night? Pants is making enchiladas." Rick: "Oh great. I love enchiladas."

Ricky, the fire in my heart burns for you once more.

And thanks to newly found videos on the Bluejackets’ website, I promise that it will never again die out.

(See Exhibit A: Water bottle = Stanley Cup?)

Those jeans should be illegal.

  1. Those jeans ARE illegal in most of the 50 states I think. Mmmm mmmm mmmm. Rick IS foxy, even with porcupine hair.

And your whole lumberjack thing reminded me of something, which given the title of the previous post, suddenly seems all appropriate, like.

    Enjoy, Chuck!

Here’s a little something I think you’ll like (if you haven’t seen it already), since you like Rick Nash being all foxy and stuff 😉

      Oh. My. God.
This is my new favorite commercial. Not only does it have Rick being ridiculously foxy and lumberjacky (sledgehammer vs. tire!) but it also has Ty-Ty Seguin looking hotter than he should.

Pants loves when Toews does squats. I love when Seguin throws medicine balls.

I gained a new appreciation for Rick Nash and developed an obsession with Tyler Seguin because of that commercial. All those muscles and intense faces and Tyler’s tattoo… I have watched it way too many times

Ok so I loved Ty-Ty cause of his maaaad skills.

And I think I may just have developed an appreciation for Nash-Ty.

It has a lot to do with the weight my friends. Honest.

Chuck, I hate to break it to you, but I live in the land of REAL lumberjacks and you are more than welcome to come visit and meet them but you will be VERY disappointed. Better to keep your fantasy alive. Because living the dream means the REAL Forks, WA and sister, you will be VERY disappointed. 4th grade education, no teeth, B.O., barefoot and pregnant. No Rick Nash in sight sister! TRUST ME …. More sasquatch than Nashsquatch!

  5. Oh my god. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I think we should be friends. Nash-ty has provided fodder for my hockey/lumberjack fantasies for quite some time now. Not to brag – I get every Columbus game on TV here! The only perk of living in Ohio? Ha!

He is forever the cause of my sexual frustration. Again, THANK YOU!

    • You’re welcome, you’re welcome, you’re welcome.

We can totes be friends, Brittany! Any fan of lumberjack looking guys is a friend of mine!

  6. Bahahaha dinner. Imagine how much those two must eat!

My mom once had to spend $250 a week on groceries with 3 of her 5 kids sports mad. Two trolleys full of food. That was the 80s & early 90s. So probably the same? Lol

    • You’d have to make a whole lotta enchiladas to feed those two!

Totes Chuck – probably enough to feed the entire Mexican population. At one sitting.

Did I mention I can make mean enchiladas? My half- Mexican former roommate told me nine were better than her Mom’s. And I’m a scot…
