sherlock

Okay, it was yesterday. How this is 1) a holiday or 2) occurs without our say-so is a mystery, but it’s never too late to join in the, er, appreciating. Especially on a Friday.

I’ve very scientifically chosen the photos below.  Browse them – and we mean Take. Your. Time. (For example, I haven’t done any other work today.) In the comments, tell us what you love, hate, miss and wish would disappear. I’m sure I’ve left out a few transformations: suggestions are also welcome.

More Puppies, Please. http://whatsupyasieve.com/2014/12/02/more-puppies-please/ http://whatsupyasieve.com/2014/12/02/more-puppies-please/#comments Tue, 02 Dec 2014 17:37:09 +0000 http://wuys.wpengine.com/?p=21386 Another day of hockey players and rescue pets? Tuesday, I’ve never liked you so much.

Last year I had the Caps calendar, and it could be a front runner again this year.  Or I’ll get them all and do a wall display (and no work)!

caps

Remember when Alzer’s dogs ate his whole apartment?

You need a close up, I know.

caps2

I will not fancat.

What’s more perfect: tag team puppy kisses or Mike Green’s hair?  Be honest – it’s the hair. Sorry puppies! You are a close second. Meanwhile that cat is praying for strength.

Not to be missed: Tom Wilson’s hair and general Tom Wilson-ness.

caps4

Loves long walks in the park.

The dog’s saying, “Are you seeing this?  Is everyone looking?  His hand is on my knee.  I’m gonna faint.”

If only two puppies were enough to occupy John Carlson while someone runs by with a Flowbee.  Perhaps a quick trip to the groomer?

caps3

Chuck, I’ve been waiting for you all night by this fence.

The best part: today is Giving Tuesday, and 100% of proceeds from the Caps calendar go to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue!  Get yours here for $20, or tell me and I’ll buy you one at the game tonight.

The Bruins also know where it’s at, releasing their 2015 Pucks & Pups Calendar.  This behind-the-scenes video is heavy on the cute.

bruins2

I hate being a foregone conclusion.

If I have one objection, it’s that the Bruins calendar does not appear to feature a single Boston Terrier.  None.  The cutest dog on Earth shares your city’s namesake (and that of it’s greatest educational institution), but you’re saying none of your players want to hug one?  Inconceivable.

Chuck, make a call.

bruins1

I’m going to call this puppy “Mullett.”

The Bruins calendar benefits a host of charities, and you can get it for $20 at shop.NHL.com.

mike

Their socks, you guys.

I don’t know where this came from, but I saw it in five places and decided that equals public domain.  They are so damned cute, I don’t think they’d care!  Everything is making me happy right now: Mr. Pants & I bought a house yesterday, Mike Green is both married and actually smiling, everyone’s a grown up and this season  is going to be fantastic.  Bring on the hockey.

Happy Monday.

Love, Optimism

In fact, the off-season is what some people do best.  Maybe they’ve been hanging around, waiting for us to get here….

mike

Hi Mike.

For me, the last hurdle is today’s Penguins Break-Up Day.  Already the boys have shaved their beards.  Hell, Nisky, would it have killed you to cut your hair?  At least you’re t-shirt is A+, unlike Neal’s.  Yet you are both outperformed by 19-year old Casanova Olli Maata, who bought ice cream for a pack of girls.  Bravo.

Also this happened.  I cannot cite a source (presumably said person lasted just long enough to Tumblr, then fainted), but I could drink to this all night.

sidbar

With Borts. Make mine a double.

See?  I feel better already.  We’ll have to give Chuck a few more days.

All the Small Things http://whatsupyasieve.com/2014/04/03/all-the-small-things/ http://whatsupyasieve.com/2014/04/03/all-the-small-things/#comments Thu, 03 Apr 2014 15:36:45 +0000 http://wuys.wpengine.com/?p=19825 I was really going to do a post about this Winnipeg Jets’ cookbook… so close.  They Instagrammed something and being married to a chef, I was hooked!  Sadly the video is a yawn but those wings looked pretty delish.  It’s for charity and so, yeah.

Off to the interwebs to find something to care about.

toews

Jonathan Toews will miss the rest of the regular season with an upper body injury sustained after a crushing hit (cue debate – clean/dirty/undecided) from Brooks Orpik.  I like the idea of Toews and Kane sharing a couch, watching hockey and shouting at the TV like I do with… you guys.  On Twitter.  That’s six games out for JT19 and he’ll apparently be 100% (Lindsay’s favorite expression) for the playoffs.

toews2

You can read about how Mike Green proposed to his fiancee, if you’re into that kind of thing (I am).  It obviously involves a pair of shoes.

mike

Why don’t I have one of these?

John Tavares is part of the new CCM ad campaign, which presumably is to sell helmets and overly serious facial expressions.

jt ccm

Martin St. Louis scored his first goal as a New York Ranger… which pretty much sank Torts’ and his Canucks’ hopes of the post-season.  Forgive me if I don’t applaud.

st louis

In a related story, Ryan Callahan has 5G, 5A for the Lightning, who have clinched a playoff spot.  (Alexis and Lindsay clap.)

Montreal Canadiens v Tampa Bay Lightning

In total the East looks like this, and whoever wants to hold my hair while I throw up will be rewarded in her next life.

east

The Caps are circling the proverbial drain.  TWO POINTS COME ON YOU JERKS!  I apologize to the husbands and friends I’ve dragged to recent games with the promise of nachos.  It is impossible to eat such feelings of despair.

pooh

My only light of hope is the Rangers & Flyers could play each other in the first round and so many negative forces might combine to create a black hole that sucks both teams into another dimension where they never play the Penguins in Round 2.

disco

If the Bruins win the President’s Trophy… I’ll say nothing publicly or to Chuck.  We’re already to the point of the season where we barely speak.

Here’s the West, which shows you why the Jets are writing cookbooks.  I hope Dallas staves off Phoenix because I know you guys love Tyler Tuesday and because I want to be nice to Chuck about something.  It has nothing to do with shirtless Jamie Benn playing ping pong.  Nope, not at all.

west

I somehow missed it three weeks ago when #TeamEbs & Co where stuck in an elevator.  My first thought is that I’ve seen Speed a hundred times, I’m totally qualified to perform a rescue in this situation.  My second thought is based on the month season the Oilers have had, maybe they should’ve stayed in there.

ebs

Also this gem  – think about it for a second.

Gabe Landeskog engaged in a Twitter conversation about which Disney hero he better resembles: Kristoff or John Smith (or Cinderella).

gabe

Erik Karlsson has 70 points.  That’s twice he’s broken 70 – each of the last two full NHL seasons.  The only other defenseman to top 70 points in the last 6 years (also did it twice)?  Mike Green.

Mike Green also started with limited tattoos and look where we are  now.

erik

Source video. 100% Swedish.

Meanwhile Matt Niskanen has 42 points and still insists on dry-parting his hair down the middle.  Also, a turtle.  I will never stop thinking this is hilarious.

nisky

Today is another day for your team’s fortune to rise or fall.  Based on all the falling my teams have done lately, I’ll just bottle my frustrations like a perfectly normal hockey fan does with two weeks left in the regular season.

You know how it is.

Know When to Hold ‘Em http://whatsupyasieve.com/2014/03/13/know-when-to-hold-em-2/ http://whatsupyasieve.com/2014/03/13/know-when-to-hold-em-2/#comments Thu, 13 Mar 2014 14:19:34 +0000 http://wuys.wpengine.com/?p=19660 Someday I’ll go to a hockey team’s Casino Night.  Someday I’ll have $250 to spend on an event that doesn’t involve either Vegas or getting a tan.  Or they could move these to Vegas and I could do all three at once.

The Caps and Islanders hosted casino nights last night.  The events benefit wonderful charities, but “Crush on Mike Green” is not a deductible category on my taxes.  At least not when “Married, Filing Jointly.”  Perhaps in Canada you can claim “Pretending I Can Count While John Tavares Deals Blackjack.”

isles1

I hope John’s a slow dealer, because hockey + cocktails is already more math than I can handle.  Read about the event here and see more photos here.  If there’s video later, I’ll post it.

isles2

Unrelated to casino night but very related to things we love, here’s the Winnipeg Sun story about John sending a signed jersey to an 11-year old Isles fan who was bullied at a Winnipeg Jets game.  Perfect guy is perfect.

isles3

The Caps don’t have a story or photos up yet.  They must’ve partied harder and the web team is sleeping it off.  Their Instagram managed a few photos:

caps5

How many drinks before I say, “Mike Green, your hair is too short!”?

But luckily the DC news was up early – Fox 5 TV – Caps Casino Night.

The event featured Ovi’s blue jacket:

caps2

Underage gamblers:

caps3

And the Brouwer Rangers modifying their suits into Power Tuxes.  Helmets and all.  No offense NYI, but this looks more like our kind of party.

caps4

Hoping for a more in-depth analysis of Mike Green’s hair in tonight’s broadcast.

Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike! http://whatsupyasieve.com/2014/01/29/mike-mike-mike-mike-mike/ http://whatsupyasieve.com/2014/01/29/mike-mike-mike-mike-mike/#comments Wed, 29 Jan 2014 15:18:57 +0000 http://wuys.wpengine.com/?p=19302 Guess what day it is? (I’ve been waiting a long time to make that truly terrible joke. If you don’t know: GEICO Hump Day commercial.)

Mike Green scored two goals last night, including the OT game-winner. Including me jumping off the couch, from under a pile of blankets, which is the equivalent of true love when it’s 4 degrees outside.  Dust off the “Game Over” nickname!

mg4

I mean it. Can this please be a thing again?

mg5

Mike’s goals were the 100th [video] and 101st [video] of his NHL career. Thanks to the folks at Japer’s Rink, this Elias/ESPN stat: Mike hit 100 goals in 483 games. Only Sergei Gonchar took fewer games among active defensemen (461) and Shea Weber’s the only other d-man to reach 100 G in under 500 games (495).  Maybe Mike should have outpaced Gonch – Remember when MG had 31 goals in a season?  Gonch had 26 as a Cap in ’01-’02. – but beggars, losing teams and Pants can’t be choosers.  Hey, Mike had as many goals as Ovi last night!

(Love the Japer’s Rink HTML file name: wednesday-caps-clips-mike-green-is-such-a-friggin-badass.)

mg2

The Caps had previously lost two shootouts to the Sabres this season. Feels good to get a win – only the Caps’ fourth in 13 games – even against the worst team in the NHL. Who are the only team below us in the Metro.  Again, I digress.  We’ll take the good – and the goals – where we can get them!

mg1

I noticed Buffalo’s Ville Leino rocking an impressive beard, and wondered if he wanted to get the growth in now since the Sabres won’t be making the playoffs. Then I realized Mike has been lightly bearded almost all season too… hypothesis deleted. No thought can be so handsome and depressing at the same time.

Back to post-game happy face [video]:

mg6

Gah, I missed that!

There has been little to write on Mondays this season, but any day can still belong to Mike.  Please let it be for goals and wins and not losing streaks. Or neck tattoos. Or all this talk about trading him [Washington Post] and keeping him [RMNB, Capitals Outsider, Japers Rink].

mg6

I’m firmly in the KEEP MIKE camp, and not just for selfish reasons of hair excellence.  The Caps have problems.  Mike is not the biggest one.  Nor is he any longer a top-2 defenseman, which maybe eases the burden of pressure that has plagued his game in recent seasons.  Overpaid for a top-4 guy, yes.  But he QBs the powerplay, still shows that offensive glitter on occasion and has already been on the ice for more of this season (50 games) than the previous two full NHL schedules (49 in ’10-’11, 32 in ’11-’12).

Washington Capitals vs Buffalo Sabres

The Caps have hung their hopes and hats of Mike for a long time – maybe too long – but now is not the time to jump ship.  Or create more problems.  Finally healthy and potentially confident, Mike Green may be the one Capitals problem that could actually solve itself.

While the US announced their Olympic roster after the Winter Classic, Canada found another way to fill their hockey quota.

can10

Video: CBC – Defending Gold: Inside the Making of Canada’s Team

It’s thirty minutes inside the minds and meetings of Team Canada’s architects as they deliberate who’ll wear the red and white in Sochi just over a month from now. The Honorable Stevie Y presiding.

Showing these kids how it's done.

Showing these kids how it’s done.

From Olympic camp back in August, let’s talk about something that’s more awkward that Lucic’s face in this shot – Phanuef’s cardigan.  No, I’m kidding.  I cover my anguish with humor, people!  It’s how I cope.

I’m talking about Mike Green.

can1

Mike is not going to Russia.  There are days when I’m surprised they even let Mike go to Caps games.   His exclusion from the 2010 Canada roster was considered by many a huge snub, a year in which he had 76 points (holy shit) and got his second straight Norris nomination.  Critics pegged Mike as “too offensive” – as in point-scoring, not bothersome – when CAN needed stay-at-home blueliners.  Well compared to 2010, this season is roadkill so I think we can just look away (from my broken heart).

Don’t despair for long.  Team Canada will not lack things to make me happy.

can2

Gah, there is a polo shirt shop in heaven and I’d like to work there.

Most of our cast of The Bachelorette (Part 1, Part 2) are here, method-acting out the roles we assigned for our show:

The Quarterback, gazing into the distance at his achievable dreams with complete disregard for that ladder’s feelings.

can3

The Kid practicing his cursive for writing notes in study hall.

can4

The Class Clown making it all look fun.  (PK might lose this grin when he hears them debating him later in the show.)

can5

The Hot One, rakishly ignoring the photo of his own crazy face in the background while testing the structural integrity of yet another folding chair.

can6

The Quiet One and other French guys being French and quiet.

can8

The Bromance being exclusive.

can9

Fine, you make a better screencap.

Not lost on me was this moment of foreshadowing.  I believe this is the look Crosby and Kunitz gave Neal after a certain incident involving a knee and a head and the desire to make this team.

pensstare

#disapprovingPenguinstare

The look inside Yzerman’s war room is fascinating, talking about pressure, second-guessing and the chemistry required to put together not only the best team, but the right team.  I got a little nervous when they talked about specific guys: Nash, #TeamEbs, Stammer’s injury.  “They will see this!  They’ll hear you!”  It makes no difference though; on January 7, Yzerman and Co. will have us on the edge of our seats.

Who will get a rose and who will be crying in limo?  Most importantly, what are we going to buy?

canada

Now it’s your turn: give us your thoughts, surprising snubs and bets on Superman Stamkos getting the nod.  If Stammer and Tavares make the team, Tavares won’t wear 91.  My purchase decision anxiety mounts.

Side note: It’s nice to know Canadians suffer the same trials as Americans when it comes to online/in demand TV – being forced to watch the same commercials ad nauseum.

mike2

That would be 18 penalty minutes in under 12 minutes of game time.  Mike Green: Time Turner.  Making time out of time that hasn’t happened yet because he has that many penalties.

time turner

If you have Game Center Live, you can go back and watch this.  I do not recommend the first period, as this was my reaction:

mike3

Instead, read this Russian Machine Never Breaks recap which softens the blow with gifs.  Or just laugh with the girl whose fiance scored 4 goals in the game.

mike That is one fewer than Mike Green took penalties, so there.  Nicky B had 5 points, because he and Mike always have to be matchy matchy.

caps xmas

Now no more of this, Mike.  The Caps have won 3 in a row and moved to 2nd in the Metropolitan Division… which is a bit like a Perfect Attendance Award, at 36 points overall, but there is still time to get hot and stay hot or just be Ovechkin.  Damn, he has a lot of goals.

ovi

That’s almost – almost! –  as good as holding a dog like an awkward baby.

mike4

After this awful hockey weekend, not even Mike Green getting 5 penalties in less time than it takes to make macaroni & cheese can get me down.  We love you, Mike.  We even love Ovi right now.  That was a sick performance but a man so gleefully parenthetical.  Four goal games make me want to madly punctuate things in place of emoticons.

Mikey Monday: So Close http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/10/07/mikey-monday-so-close/ http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/10/07/mikey-monday-so-close/#comments Mon, 07 Oct 2013 14:32:23 +0000 http://wuys.wpengine.com/?p=17942 Mike Green was really trying to give me something to Monday about when he scored two goals in the Caps season opener vs. Chicago.  Then both goals were credited to Mikhail Grabovski.

Mike is not used to sharing this MG stuff with anyone.

mg2 Say what?

Mike did have two assists vs. Chicago, plus another two since then and he’s quarterbacking a heck of a power play.  The Caps were the NHL’s best power play last season and currently have a league-leading 4 PPG, converting on 44.4% of advantages.

Mike also leads all NHL players in ice time with 84:54 so far this season.

mg1 Mike: Guys, what do I have to do here?
Erat: I don’t know, I’m on the 4th line now.

Annie S was at the Caps/Hawks game and took these great pictures for us.  She (and I) suggest Mike get back to work because:

– It’s almost our collective birthday (Friday/Saturday).
– They’re playing the Canes on Thursday and Intern Jeff Skinner was first star last night. The competition around this office is fierce.
@jfrancesw, @thekitchenette and I will be at Saturday’s game vs. Colorado and Gabe is back in the lineup.  Don’t let your hair get upstaged.
– Lastly the Oilers come to town on Monday.  One week away and I feel like I’ve had a pile of Pixie Stix and a giant Coke.

mg3 Okay, I’m focused.

The Caps are 1-2 right now, with their next 3 match-ups vs. teams they should beat.  The schedule doesn’t stay easy for long, boys.  Take advantage.

Caps Lock http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/10/02/caps-lock/ http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/10/02/caps-lock/#comments Wed, 02 Oct 2013 15:22:29 +0000 http://wuys.wpengine.com/?p=17901 Behold, part of the glorious two-page Caps preview spread in today’s Washington Post!  (Sorry Coach, the copier can only scan so much.)

capspostClick for a much larger picture.

Read the preview here.  Note the Post has the Penguins winning the East, by 1 point over the Bruins.

Though the Caps lost their opener vs. Chicago last night, I saw a lot of things I liked.  The power play is still gorgeous – three goals!   The boys definitely played a full 60 minutes.  Add in some very pretty passing and it was a strong show against probably the toughest team in the NHL.  Ovi had 9 shots, Green 6 and he played 26:48.  Guess he’s well rested.

So far, things are looking good.

mgpost

Well, mostly.

The Day Has Come http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/09/29/the-day-has-come-2/ http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/09/29/the-day-has-come-2/#comments Sun, 29 Sep 2013 13:31:14 +0000 http://wuys.wpengine.com/?p=17806 Thanks to everyone who sent this to me while I was at the county fair last night. My reaction noise definitely startled some livestock.

James Neal appears to have extended his tattoo to a full sleeve.

1999903049-928614366

All together now… “UGH.”

Okay, that was just me.  And what I really said was, “CoughMikeGreencough.”

mgreen2

I don’t hate it – it’s tough to even see it and I bet it’s not finished. Let’s say I’m not really looking forward to more.  Unless James gives us a hipster glasses-and-tank top selfie for examination – there are brownie points to be had here.  Also if there is a little 71 hidden in there somewhere.

So enjoy this while waiting for a glimpse of more.  I’ll be over here taking solace in the fact that Crosby would never do this to me.  Look at him there at the end, all short and built like a brick house.

(Posting from my phone, sorry if this is a mess!)

Mikey Monday: We’re Back http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/09/23/mikey-monday-were-back/ http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/09/23/mikey-monday-were-back/#comments Mon, 23 Sep 2013 14:34:38 +0000 http://wuys.wpengine.com/?p=17704 Oh Monday.  It’s been a while since I was so excited to see your face.

And by your face, I mean Mike Green’s.

dl1021a

The Capitals Convention was this weekend, so Mike’s friends are along to make your Monday better.  I had a hot date with Deb (@DLF1021) and Pam (@sunnyinNJ) who packed their high-powered cameras.  Every picture here is used with their permission – please don’t steal them!

There was a player ping pong tournament in which Nicky B looked adorable:

dlf1021gHe got in trouble for cursing at a later panel.  Piglet dropping f-bombs.

And Troy Brouwer wore these shorts:

dlf1021h

Photographing the screen was the only way to get all that, but here’s a money shot from RussianMachineNeverBreaks.com.

The competition was (not at all) serious.

dlf1021i

While Deb & Pam watched shorts run around on stage, my randomly selected autograph session ticket ended up being for Mike Green.  I personally vouch for his hair being 1000% and I even managed not to fall off the stage.

ticket

Just when I thought the highlight of the day had happened, Mike participated in a cooking competition.  Making grilled cheese sandwiches.

phaceoff3

Did I write this script or what?  While the PA played Bieber and Britney, Mike and his fan-assistants won all three rounds of the contest.  He looked pretty pleased with himself and relieved not to have set the place on fire.

dlf1021fAll this *and* I can boil water.

While we all have a weakness for sandwiches, the best panel of the day was Locker Room Stories hosted by @wyshynski.

dlf1021c

Brooks Laich, Eric Fehr and Aaron Volpatti told lots of redacted stories about pranks and superstitions that had us cracking up and other players’ ears ringing, even on their new teams.

dlf1021d

We also decided that Brooks Laich should run for President.  He’s diplomatic and sensible all while being ridiculously charming and having great legs.  It’s a combination so powerful the law should overlook the fact he wasn’t born in the USA.

dlf1021eIt wasn’t me.

Deb and Pam capped off their weekend with Caps practice yesterday, which I sadly missed.  Perhaps it was for the best, considering this happened:

phaceoff1

Yup, I’ll just stay over.  Behind the glass.  Sitting on my hands.

phaceoff2

Welcome back, Monday.

Step Into the Light http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/09/11/step-into-the-light/ http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/09/11/step-into-the-light/#comments Wed, 11 Sep 2013 16:00:53 +0000 http://wuys.wpengine.com/?p=17594 Sneaker Ball, the annual charity event that encourages sports to enhance the lives of children, was held last night in DC.  Guess who won an award?

caps4

The JB (James Brown) Impact Award goes to an athlete who “has demonstrated outstanding involvement in the community and has used sport to positively impact the area….  Through actions of service to the community, he or she has reflected the ideals of not only a great athlete, but of an exceptional DC citizen.” [Sneakerball.org]

Congratulations, Mike!

Mike does a lot of charity work in the DC area, including the annual So Kids Can playground build with Kaboom!  Last year’s event was fantastic [link] and I signed up for this year’s build on September 26.  It looks like spots are still open!  Sign Up Here

caps6

Mike was joined by some very well-dressed Caps teammates at last night’s event.

Karl Alzner: Best Suit

caps2

Steve Oleksy: Best Shoes (you can almost see them!)

Joel Ward: Best Vest

caps3I really do love vests.

And just because the Caps posted it to their Instagram, making it internet official and public:

Belated congrats to Mike on getting engaged.  His fiancee obviously has excellent taste in guys and possibly even better taste in dresses.  (Sorry Mike, but that is a killer gown.)  Is it too soon to start asking about faux-hawked babies?  Do I sound like my mom right now?

caps5

At the moment we’ll settle for Mike’s own hair, in all it’s glory, at 2013 Caps Media Day.

caps1

Need I recall last year, when I was “99% weeping and 1% wondering if he has the stigmata” over Mike’s photo? [link]  Time heals all wounds.

Bring on the season.

Summer’s Almost Gone http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/09/10/summers-almost-gone/ http://whatsupyasieve.com/2013/09/10/summers-almost-gone/#comments Tue, 10 Sep 2013 15:03:29 +0000 http://wuys.wpengine.com/?p=17572 I cannot go away for one second!  It’s like Toy Story in here – I go outside and everything suddenly comes to life.  Where to begin?

#TeamEbs took over the NHL Instagram account and used the opportunity to make fun of Molly Ringwald.

Our favorite boy band also introduced an act at the Canadian Country Music Awards.  (All the things I love – hockey, Canada, country music – in one place.)

media3

The NHL had their Media Day and Sidney Crosby took his hockey stick to the prom (again).

John Tavares was named the 14th captain of the USS NY Islanders.  Just when you think it can’t get more adorkable, he says “heck” in his speech, wears black shorts with black shoes and just about kills us all. (Press conference |  Interview)

tavvy

He also did a… workout video.  That should be Rated R.  Hey!  I am not the one who says “explosive hip thrusts” fifty times.

Proof that JT91 is the nicest: Everyone says “Tavahhhres” while John says “TavAIRes.”  I bet he never corrects anyone.

Also, the Hawks went to a Bears game.

Resulting in the best Tweet of the weekend:

The Penguins annual season ticket delivery happened.  This would need to take place with said Penguin being delivered to my house in an ambulance, then my mom could drive him home after the EMTs take me away.

As per usual, Crosby went to zero houses where anyone under 60 lives.  He did sweat his was handsomely through the attention.

What’s cuter than awkward Sid?  GENO!  I have missed you!  He is 12 feet tall and doesn’t brush his hair.  Those are some Russian jeans he’s got on too.  Who cares?!  I want to hug him.

You can see them all at the Pens website, including this moment where Neal signs a baby.

neal

Speaking of Penguins, it’s JStaal’s birthday today.  I miss him.  Let’s all take a moment to wish the Canes a good season, and then eat some cake.

staal Jordan was our very first Happy Birthday post in 2010, and again in 2011.

This happened two weeks ago and I never even saw it – The Mike Green Clinic on What Shoes to Wear With Golf Shorts:

Do you think d-men like Green and Seabs enjoy seeing scorers like Stammer and Bergy in the off-season?  One more from this tournament…

golf2More photos here.

That’ll teach me to go on vacation.  Just wait until the season starts!  I may not survive.  I’m sure there’s more right now but I must work because that Game Center Live bill is coming soon too.

(Who am I kidding?  Start that workout video again.)
